Sent
- The address you paste, checked by our server (never towards an internal address) and sent to Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine to look for a copy.
Nothing is kept

- An anonymous counter limits abuse (your IP address is transformed irreversibly): it only counts for an hour, then it is removed by a regular clean-up.
Frequently asked questions
How does the tool find a link again?
It checks whether the address still answers or redirects to a new page, and asks the Wayback Machine (Internet Archive) for the most recent copy it kept.
Why “cannot be checked”?
Some sites are slow, block automated visits or are briefly down. The tool does not conclude then: the archived copy is still offered if it exists.
Is every page archived?
No. The Wayback Machine does not have every page, especially recent, private or rarely visited ones.
Is it free?
Yes, free and without an account, within about twenty searches per hour.
