Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Rynqu collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our web app, our browser extension, or our API.
1. Who we are
Rynqu is an AI-assisted bookmark management service. The service operator can be reached at ledouxgaming23@gmail.com.
2. Data we collect
User account
At signup: email address and password (hashed, never stored in plain text). Optionally: display name and profile picture.
Bookmarks
Saved URLs, titles, descriptions, preview images, AI summaries, tags and folders. Depending on the resource and features used, we also process extracted page text, video transcripts, your notes, highlighted passages and context you provide.
Usage data
Actions and their dates support library features, personal statistics, quotas and security. With your consent, PostHog also receives navigation and interaction events to measure product usage.
Browser extension
When connected, the extension downloads the list of your saved and highlighted pages and keeps it in your browser: the “already saved” badge is computed locally, and a page’s address is only sent to Rynqu to show your highlights again if you already highlighted it. Other pages you visit are not sent. Opening the popup may use the URL and title to suggest related resources. Saving may send extracted page text, a selection, your notes or a YouTube transcript. Highlighting sends the passage and its note; searching sends your query. The extension does not request access to the browser’s history.
API keys
Generated API keys are stored in hashed form. They cannot be retrieved after creation — only you know them.
Search and AI features
Your questions and relevant passages from your library may be sent to the AI provider used to generate an answer. Saved pages may also be analyzed to generate summaries, tags and search representations. Processing depends on the available features and service configuration.
3. How we use your data
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Run your bookmark library
- Automatically generate summaries, tags, and rankings via AI
- Let you find your links again through search
- Manage your subscription and billing
- Respond to your support requests
- Measure product usage with your consent and maintain its security
We do not sell your data or use it for targeted advertising. The providers below support the service’s features.
4. Third-party services
Depending on the features used and providers enabled, Rynqu may use the services below. Data is shared for the relevant processing. Some processing may take place outside your country; retention rules depend on the provider and service used.
| Service | Purpose | Data shared |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosting | HTTP requests and technical logs, which may include URLs and IP addresses |
| Neon / PostgreSQL | Storage | Account, library and service operation data |
| Google Gemini | Summaries, analysis and AI answers | Questions, context and relevant content: page text, passages, transcripts or video depending on the feature |
| Anthropic (Claude) | Summaries and AI answers | Questions, context and relevant text from saved resources |
| OpenAI | Search representations, summaries and AI answers | Resource text, questions and relevant context depending on processing |
| Microlink | Page metadata and screenshots | Target page URL, which the provider may visit to generate a preview |
| Resend | Transactional emails and notifications | Recipient address and message content, including sign-in or password reset links |
| Polar | Payments and subscriptions (Merchant of Record) | Email, account identifier and billing data; payment information entered with Polar |
| PostHog | Product analytics with consent | Pages visited, interactions, identifiers and technical browser information |
| Sentry | Error and performance diagnostics | Errors, traces and technical context; default automatic collection of personal data is disabled |
| Inngest / Upstash QStash | Asynchronous processing when enabled | Resource and owner identifiers, and processing parameters |
5. Data retention
Library data is retained to provide the service. You can delete your account from Me → Account → “Delete my account”. Retention obligations, including billing records, and backup copies may require separate retention of some data.
Deleting a bookmark removes it from your library. Backup copies and images or screenshots hosted by providers are not necessarily erased at the same time. Their retention is separate from removal in the application.
6. Security
Communications between your browser and our servers are encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed before storage. API keys are hashed — even we can't read them. Database access is restricted to our infrastructure.
No system is foolproof. If you suspect your account has been compromised, revoke your API keys immediately from settings and contact us.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR (if you're in Europe), you have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of your data
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — delete your account and all your data
- Portability — export your bookmarks (JSON format available in settings)
- Objection — object to certain types of processing
To exercise these rights, contact us at ledouxgaming23@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The last modification date is shown at the top of the page. For significant changes, we'll notify you by email at least 7 days in advance.
